Explore the Alsea

Milepost 0.0 to 2.7 - Pacific Ocean to Eckman Lake Milepost 2.8 to 10 - Eckman Lake to Tidewater Milepost 10.1 to 27 - Tidewater to County Line

Experience the picturesque beauty of the Alsea River. Stop for lunch, rent a boat, or enjoy the wildflowers along a road less traveled. Highway 34 parallels the river beginning at the Highway 101 junction in Waldport and winds east over the Coast Range to Corvallis and the Willamette Valley.

For a more leisurely trip, go by boat and follow the tide ten miles up river to a quiet fishing hole. (Be sure to check local tide, sand bar, and weather conditions before leaving.)

However you decide to travel, this route reflects a slower pace, allowing time to enjoy all the scenic and recreational opportunities the Alsea has to offer.
